Our approach

Landine Financial signage

What happens when an engineer decides to build a financial planning firm? This is our story at Landine Financial. Like an engineer coordinating the various components of a major construction project, our team builds custom plans that integrate each financial element of a person’s life in a way that makes sense. This clarity is key when answering the important questions our clients are asking, such as:

  • Will I have enough to retire?

  • How can I pay less tax?

  • Am I investing my money well?

Solid foundations

Most people we meet don’t have a financial plan. If they do, it’s often generated by computer software that contains lots of information but has little connection to their lives. Good business is built on relationships: we want to know our clients and we want them to know us. The trust this establishes is the foundation for any work we do together.

Custom blueprints

It begins with a conversation. Where are you now and where do you want to be? Once we have a clear picture of your current situation and understand your goals and concerns, we take that information and begin building a customized report.

Engineered solutions

After comprehensive analysis and a marketplace review, we’ll provide you with a plan that restates your goals and presents your financial information in an organized way. Among other things, your report addresses risk management, corporate structure and investment portfolio design. A properly engineered solution provides specific strategies to maximize your outcome while paying the least tax.

Launching a tech start-up is full of challenges. I turned to Rick for business and financial guidance. Ten years later, I still do, and am glad to have Landine Financial to assist with corporate as well as personal financial planning.

Working with Rick has been one of the best financial decisions I have made as I work toward retirement. I have grown to appreciate his competence, professionalism and friendly service as he and his team help me meet my financial goals and manage my investments.

Rick and I worked together in the water and wastewater industry before he ventured into the financial world. During that time we grew to be great friends and it was a no-brainer when Rick asked me to consider trusting him with my retirement portfolio. The result has been very rewarding and fun, too.

FAQ

  • Who are your typical clients?

We meet with a lot of business owners, physicians, dentists and other professionals. Many of our clients are also retirees. Having said that, we have clients from all walks of life and always look forward to a phone call from any new person looking for help. If we’re not the right fit, we’ll provide recommendations for you.

  • How much do your services cost?

We don’t charge a fee for the work we do. If you agree with our recommendations and want us to do any further work on your behalf, the companies we work with compensate us so that you never have to pay anything out of pocket.

  • Are all meetings held at your office?

We want to meet my clients wherever they are most comfortable. Whether that’s our office, your office, your home, or Tim Hortons – it’s up to you. If you don’t live in the Fredericton area, we can arrange a virtual meeting or come to you.

  • What should I bring to my initial meeting?

We recommend bringing copies of your recent investment and insurance statements, as well as any liabilities or additional assets. If you are incorporated, you’ll also want to bring a copy of your most recent financial statement. If you’re looking to build a financial future with your spouse or partner, it is very helpful to include them in this process.

  • Will I be on my own?

Not at all. At minimum, we will have an annual review so that you’re always up-to-date with your plan. As your life changes, we will adapt your plan accordingly.
